About Pattie Mansur

I'm ready to bring my experience in health care access, public education and community engagement to the Missouri House. My background in communications and public policy positions me to help advance policy changes that will benefit Missourians from all walks of life.

Policy Experience and Community Connections

In my current role as Director of Health Policy at a regional philanthropy, I've partnered with nonprofit and civic organizations to advocate for health and mental health care in urban and rural areas, and remove barriers to programs for those who qualify.

A Record of Public Service

I raised my three children in the Kansas City Public Schools and served 7 years on the Kansas City School Board. My volunteer service in the KC schools and partnerships with other education leaders reinforced for me the vital role public schools play in every community.

Preparation for the Job Ahead

I grew up in Missouri, and my husband and I have lived in Kansas City for more than 30 years. I've worked for policy change for decades, locally and in the state Capitol and am ready to use these skills in Jefferson City to represent the interests of House District 25 residents and the Kansas City region.

Access to health care coverage and services is fundamental to a thriving region. When children and adults are able to obtain the health and mental health services they need, they are more able to succeed in school, maintain employment and take care of their families. Unfortunately, Missouri's systems are under-staffed and unequipped to handle Medicaid and other child and family programs. I'm committed to working on solutions to operating challenges that leave thousands of Missourians without basic services.

As a former elected school board member in Kansas City and vocal champion for public education, I will work to protect K-12 public school funding and targeted resources for children with special learning needs so that our schools are equipped to meet the demands on public education to prepare young people for careers and life success.

One important starting point is the need to increase availability of quality early childhood education--investments that set the stage for children’s health, growth and readiness to learn. Missouri families and employers know there aren't enough childcare options to meet demand. I will support policy options that help families with the costs of childcare and financial resources that help expand availability.
