About Leslie Jones

My name is Leslie Jones and I am running to represent Missouri House District 130. I am a lifelong Missourian born and raised in Springfield, and I have spent the majority of my life learning and growing within this community.

I am a woman who wears many hats. Not only am I a mother to two beautiful children, I am also a music therapist, educator, business owner and advocate. I have worked as a board certified music therapist for 15 years, working with all ages and abilities in our community within schools, outpatient therapy clinics, hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. Since completing my masters degree, I have worked as an adjunct professor at my alma mater, Drury University, teaching on the music therapy staff. In addition, I am a small business owner who started my business, Musical Bridges Music Therapy, over 10 years ago with nothing but an education, a dream, lots of hard work and steadfast dedication. I have advocated for the music therapy profession for years, and just recently finished my term as the Vice President for the Midwest American Music Therapy Association. In addition, I have served as a team lead for the Springfield chapter of Moms Demand Action, working to reduce gun violence in our community and state.

I believe if a representative is to be truly effective, they need to work to listen and represent everyone in their district, not just those whom they agree with. As your representative I will strive to hear all voices, and work across the aisle to bring compromise and positive changes that can benefit everyone in this state.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to share your thoughts and concerns. I want to represent the district as best as possible, and that starts with knowing what is most important to you.

I am looking forward to speaking with you while earning your trust and your vote for State Representative.

With gratitude,

Leslie Jones
