State Rep Candidate Wick Thomas To Host Paint & Sip Fundraiser In Honor Of The Independence Ave. "Truck-Eating Bridge"
Long-time KC activist Wick Thomas has announced their campaign for Missouri State Representative for State House District 19 and will be holding an Independence Ave. Bridge Paint and Sip fundraiser at Sala De Arte, 4828 E 9th St, Kansas City, MO 64124, from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2024, to celebrate our community and encourage the arts.
“We are running an inclusive, creative campaign. Our local bridge is a nationally known part of our District and we are holding this light-hearted fundraiser as a way to celebrate our community. I want to let the LGBTQ community, artists, the immigrant community, and all marginalized people know that someone is going to the Capitol and fighting for them.” Wick says.
Wick’s platform of policies focuses on representing the people who are most underrepresented in the halls of government, emphasizing LGBTQ rights, immigrant rights, advocacy for people of color, and women’s rights. The campaign also addresses housing inequality, healthcare access, violent crime, and public school and library funding.
