UAW

I am honored to be endorsed by the UAW one of the nation's oldest and most respected Unions. The UAW has fought long and hard for the rights of workers. The UAW, naturally, has its roots in supporting the people who work in automobile manufacturing, but today the UAW represents many workers in many trades. The UAW lends its expertise and strength to help workers in colleges, healthcare, gaming and more; helping workers to unionize and negotiate for better wages and benefits. The UAW also offers critical support to candidates, like me, who have small, grassroots campaigns but big hearts and big ideas. The collective power and influence of the UAW helps smaller candidates make a real go of an election in a world where many campaigns are bought and sold by private interests. It's both exhilarating and humbling to be working with UAW who's contributions to social justice include:

"... campaigns to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the Fair Housing Act, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1988 and legislation to prohibit discrimination against women, the elderly and people with disabilities." (UAW, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America, 2023).

Union solidarity translates into community solidarity. Together we are stronger, together we achieve more. Together is the only way we move forward and nudge the dial of human history closer to justice.
