Sitting Down with Stakeholders

Today, I met with AFL-CIO leaders to discuss how we can support each other. They shared valuable insights on how I can succeed as a candidate and, more importantly, understand the needs of labor and unions. I always enjoy connecting with local leaders and finding unexpected commonalities, such as our shared support for important non-profits like water.org.

I also met with a representative from IBEW Local 124, the same union my grandfather, Donald J. Zimmerman, belonged to as a Journeyman electrician. His membership in IBEW 124 provided our family with a better life. Grandpa Z took pride in his work, including the initial wiring of many of Kansas City's iconic structures like the Power and Light building. I'm honored to collaborate with the union that played such a significant role in his career and our family's well-being.
