Cape Girardeau Group Rallies for Abortion Rights

On May 2, 2022 Politico first ran a story on a leaked draft Supreme Court opinion making the case to overturn Roe v. Wade and with it send decisions over reproductive rights back to the states. May 6 was a "First Friday with the Arts" event in downtown Cape Girardeau, and a beautiful mid-Spring evening, combing to fill the area with many more visitors than usual. With this backdrop, a group of abortion rights activists held a rally on the steps of city hall with their calls for upholding Roe echoing throughout the downtown area well into the evening. Local news captured the moment.
